Meet some of the XOCEAN Team

XOCEAN was founded in early 2017 and has offices in Ireland, the UK and Canada. Collectively, the team has many decades of experience in technology development and operational delivery in a marine environment.

Andrew is the CTO of XOCEAN. He was previously a senior technical manager at an international marine engineering business. Andrew was the Engineers Ireland International Engineer of the Year 2015.

Charlotte processes and analyses multibeam echo sounder data and is responsible for preparing the final reports and deliverables for seabed surveys. With a passion for seabed mapping, Charlotte has particularly enjoyed working on the UK civil hydrography programme, a systematic survey of UK coastal waters, administered by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

Claire is the Marketing and Communications Specialist at XOCEAN. She holds an honours degree from Trinity College Dublin and has extensive experience managing strategy, public and media relations, branding, advertising and events in the marine industry.

Duncan is the CSO of XOCEAN. He has over 29 years’ experience in the collection, processing and analysis of ocean data. A highly skilled hydrographic surveyor, Duncan was a pioneer and early adopter of high-resolution multibeam technology in the early 1990s and helped push the boundaries of multibeam technology from its infancy to the de facto tool for seabed mapping that it is today.

James is the founder and CEO of XOCEAN. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Ireland. James was previously the CEO of an international marine energy business and a senior manager at Accenture.
Karen is the CFO of XOCEAN. She is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and has spent over 20 years working in Senior Management positions in organisations including Price Waterhouse Coopers, National Treasury Management Agency, Treasury Holdings and OpenHydro.
Kevin is the Chief Data Officer of XOCEAN, focused on providing high quality deliverables to our clients. He was previously a senior technical manager at an international marine engineering business. Kevin was the Engineers Ireland Chartered Engineer of the Year 2013.

Sarah is the COO of XOCEAN. She has extensive executive management experience, having previously served as CEO at Emera Utility Services, President of Emera (Caribbean) Inc., President and CEO of ICD Utilities Limited, and President and CEO of Grand Bahama Power Company. In her role as COO, Sarah is responsible for XOCEAN’s commercial, production and operation functions.
