  • Offshore wind site investigations on Hornsea One for Ørsted and Greater Gabbard for SSE Renewables
  • Multiple power cable surveys in Western Scotland
  • Multi-USV Lake Superior seabed survey for the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS)
  • Decommissioning survey for Chyrsaor in the Southern North Sea
  • 950km Pipeline Survey in the Caspian Sea for BP

Multiple Power Cable Surveys, Scotland

XOCEAN mobilised two USVs and two UAVs to Western Scotland to perform inspections of 35 power cables linking multiple islands and peninsulas on the West coast of Scotland. The combined bathymetric and topographic surveys were delivered using our pioneering uncrewed technology, providing our clients with a safe, reliable and carbon-neutral solution for the collection of ocean data.

Multi-USV Lake Superior Seabed Survey

Two XOCEAN XO-450 USVs, remotely controlled via satellite, took to Lake Superior over the winter to undertake pioneering survey work for the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) in partnership with IIC Technologies. The wide area survey marks the first time that USV technology has been used to gather bathymetry data in this region of Canada. Read more here.

Decommissioning Survey for Chrysaor

XOCEAN recently completed a carbon neutral decommissioning survey in the Southern North Sea for Chrysaor. The USV was mobilised with MBES and SBP sensors, operating up to 120km offshore. As well as rapid mobilisation, our USV platform offers clients a safe, reliable and carbon neutral solution for the collection of ocean data.

950km Pipeline Survey in the Caspian Sea

XOCEAN successfully completed multiple carbon neutral pipeline surveys for the bp-operated projects in the Caspian Sea. The survey project marks the first time a USV has been used to collect pipeline data in the region. The XO-450 USV completed over 950km of pipeline survey in up to 25 metres of water using high resolution multibeam.
