2021 was another strong year for XOCEAN, tripling the size of our company for the second consecutive year through significant expansion of our fleet, our team, and our capabilities. We partnered with industry leaders in renewable energy, fisheries, government, and academia on significant projects to deliver uncrewed ocean data across the globe.


We safely completed 16,500 hours of uncrewed survey operations in 2021, displacing over 21,000 tons of CO2 emissions.


We completed our largest mission to date using 4 USVs to deliver 12,500 kms of geophysical survey for a carbon capture storage project.


We successfully delivered over 50 missions across Europe, North America, and Asia, including 26 Offshore Wind surveys for existing and new clients.

Ocean data delivered, for:


During 2021 our fleet of USVs completed over 90,000 km of uncrewed operations, enough to circumnavigate the globe twice.


We surveyed cable route corridors for multiple offshore wind farms, including one that took us over 200km offshore in the North Sea.

International Operations

We completed our first surveys in Taiwan, the Arctic, France, Belgium and the Netherlands bringing the total number of countries we have delivered data in to 16.

Environmental Surveys

We collected important fisheries data in Scotland, operating within 10m of multiple man-made North Sea offshore platforms.


We secured €8m in investment, led by VentureWave Capital, to support the expansion of our fleet, our team, and our capabilities. Also our CEO James Ives was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur.


We grew our team from 41 to 120 and tripled our revenues for the second year in a row. We also opened 2 new regional headquarters in Canada and Norway.
