Position: Resource Scheduler

Reporting to: Logistics & Support Manager

Location: Remote in UK or Ireland

About XOCEAN

XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).

Overview

To operate our fleet of USVs efficiently XOCEAN requires our team and our assets to be deployed in an optimised way. The Resource Scheduler will be part of a team responsible for working with stakeholders across XOCEAN’s business to deploy the pools of people and assets to enable efficient project execution.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with stakeholders to fully understand resourcing requirements for project execution
  • Scheduling resources within resourcing systems to optimise use and generating reports on resource use
  • Ensuring use of correct coding in resourcing system
  • Communicating with staff regarding scheduling
  • Supporting stakeholders with forward looking workforce resource planning including identification of training and development requirements

Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience

  • 2+ years experience in an administration role
  • Interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong IT systems use. Experience with MS Excel a necessity
  • Appetite for problem solving and learning
  • Analytical and report writing skills
  • Initiative and interest in improving ways of working and processes

Desirable Experience

  • Use of workforce management systems
  • Familiarity with working on marine or technical company
